Koren Palmer, CPB
Koren is the Founder of Host Bookkeeping Systems and has worked in bookkeeping and finance since 1998. She established Host in 2007 and intentionally evolved it in 2018 into a structured, team-based firm grounded in strong systems, accountability, and long-term client partnership. As a Certified Professional Bookkeeper, she upholds high standards of accuracy, compliance, and ethical practice.
Deeply engaged in her community, she serves on the board of Community Futures Cowichan and the Cowichan Women’s Business Network, and co-founded The Cowichan Business Collective to foster meaningful collaboration and shared growth. Based on Vancouver Island, Koren leads with the belief that business should support a full life, not consume it, bringing a grounded, steady perspective to her work and her team.
Koren draws energy from the grounded, steady pace of Island life. Time in the forest, walks with her mini bernedoodle Luna, and cheering from the sidelines at her children’s activities keep her perspective clear. She is especially proud of their creativity and independence, whether on the field or building ambitious projects in the garage. She believes business should support a full life, not consume it, and leads Host with that belief at the center.

Andrea Elliott, Senior Bookkeeper
When Andrea is on your file, you can breathe easy. She brings calm, clarity, and over 20 years of experience to every set of books she touches. Since joining Host in 2020, she has supported some of our most complex and fast growing clients with steady focus and quiet confidence.
Andrea believes clean books are built month by month through consistent systems and clear communication. She has a sharp eye for detail and takes real pride in getting things right. For her, good bookkeeping is an act of integrity. It is about helping business owners understand their numbers and feel confident making decisions.
Clients appreciate the way she explains things in plain language. No pressure. No overwhelm. Just clear information and thoughtful support. She also mentors junior team members and helps strengthen the processes that keep Host running smoothly. She truly owns her work and shows up with heart.
Outside of work, Andrea enjoys hiking, travelling, and spending time with family and friends. You will often find her outside with her mini Australian Labradoodle, Ava. Time in nature helps her reset so she can show up grounded and focused for her clients.
Cheryl, Senior Bookkeeper
When Cheryl is managing your books, things feel steady. Even during busy seasons. Even when the details get complex. She brings a calm, organized presence that keeps payroll on track and financial records clear and reliable.
With more than 25 years of experience, Cheryl has seen just about everything. She believes the numbers should tell the real story. Accuracy is a form of respect, and business owners deserve reports they can trust. She keeps files clean, well documented, and up to date so there are no surprises later.
Clients value her clear communication and her strong sense of ownership. When Cheryl says something is handled, it is handled. She especially enjoys working with business owners who stay engaged in the process. For her, bookkeeping works best as a partnership built on integrity and follow through.
Outside of work, Cheryl loves summers cruising in their boat and relaxing lakeside at the family cottage. In the winter, she skis and snowboards. Year round, she enjoys walks with her one eyed mini bernedoodle, Marbles, who brings plenty of personality to every outing.

Kendall Motherwell, Junior Bookkeeper
Kendall brings focus, follow through, and a strong sense of ownership to every client file she touches. She supports the team with monthly bookkeeping and keeps records organized, current, and ready for review.
She joined Host in 2025 after completing her bookkeeping certification at Camosun College and is building her skills with care and intention. Kendall believes accuracy matters. If something does not look right, she asks questions and works through it thoughtfully. She helps clients stay on track with their documentation so month end feels clear and manageable.
Clients appreciate her warm communication style and her willingness to learn from the senior team to make sure everything is handled properly. She is growing her career while raising her family, and she shows up with dedication and heart in both spaces. Kendall truly owns her growth and is excited to keep learning.
Outside of work, she enjoys camping with her family, exploring new places around Vancouver Island, snowboarding when the season allows, and staying involved in her children’s activities.
